We can save you the expense and embarrassment of having your checks returned. The overdraft privilege does just that.
As long as your account remains in good standing, the Southbridge Credit Union may elect to pay your overdraft checks, rather than returning them, unpaid, to the party you intended to pay.
You will be charged service fees for insufficient funds as appropriate. Checks paid through the overdraft privilege enable you to avoid the additional expense of another fee charged by the party to which the check was returned.
What's Overdraft Privilege?
- A financial resource that can cover your overdraft checks
- SCU’s convenient response to your unexpected checking needs
- A valuable enhancement to your banking relationship
- Not a promise, but a privilege, for you
How Can I Get the Overdraft Privilege?
Your checking account must be in good standing with SCU for 60 days; at which point your account is automatically enrolled in overdraft privilege to cover ACH and check transactions. If you wish to have ATM and debit card transactions covered as well, you will need to opt-in to this service.
What If I Don't Want Overdraft Privilege?
You may opt out of our overdraft privilege service simply by contacting SCU at 508-765-5454 or toll free at 888-599-2265.
