JOB TITLE: TELLER

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager SUPERVISES: Not applicable.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Provides members with service on a variety of transactions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of activities in order to process transactions initiated by members and to provide credit union services to members.
- Welcomes members to the credit union and provides routine information concerning credit union services in accordance with credit union policies. Receives and directs specific questions to the appropriate departments.
- Receives and processes current transactions, accepts deposits, processes withdrawals, and receives loan payments for credit union members.
- Balances cash drawer and makes settlement of day’s activities.
- Cross-sells credit union services which are of benefit to the members.
- Receives and processes bank-by-mail transactions.
- Manages telephone inquiries and requests.
- Responsible for general typing, filing, computer input and other miscellaneous duties.
- Follows security controls as outlined in the teller manual.
- As an ambassador of the Credit Union, is knowledgeable of all products and services and promotes them whenever possible.
- Performs various other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITES:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: No experience necessary.
Skills: Skilled in typing; general office equipment and data processing systems. Works accurately with figures and performs detailed work of a routine nature.
Traits: Capacity for working well with associates and members. Personable nature and patient attitude, dependability, and initiative.
Physical Demands: Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/or related equipment; eye coordination required to operate computer/teller terminal; stands at teller counter/station to process member transactions.
