Phony job/task opportunities.
The latest version of fake job offers targets individuals seeking work-from-home opportunities with flexible hours to supplement their income.
These scams often involve repetitive tasks that require no experience, such as providing ratings or liking videos. To complete these tasks and receive their earnings, “employees” are instructed to send money or cryptocurrency; however, the promised earnings never materialize.
What To Do About It
- Real employers don’t use generic texts or WhatsApp for job offers
- Never pay for job opportunities
- Be cautious of anyone offering payment for online ratings; it’s illegal
